After careful deliberations, the jury of the European Week for Waste Reduction (EWWR) has decided on the 16 finalists and winners that will receive awards for the actions they carried out in 2018. At its tenth edition, the EWWR is a Europe-wide initiative that ACR+ manages in conjunction with 11 other institutions that form part of the EWWR Steering Committee. Among them are ACR+ members Lipor, Wasteserv Malta, NLWA, Bruxelles Environnement, and ARC. The 2018 edition of EWWR, which took place between 17 and 25 November last year, saw the organisation of over 14,000 waste reduction events and campaigns across 30 countries in Europe and beyond.

Selecting 16 of these as finalists for the awards was no easy feat, for the creativity and long-lasting impact of numerous actions undertaken as part of EWWR 2018 were impressive. Read our press release to learn who the finalists and jury members are. On behalf of the EWWR Secretariat, ACR+ would like to thank the national coordinators, without whose help the initiative would not be possible, and the thousands of passionate volunteers that, year after year, work to rid our planet of unnecessary waste.

In order to help celebrate their effort and passion, we would like to invite you to join us at the EWWR Awards Ceremony 2018, which will take place in Brussels on 15 May 2019. Hosted by the European Committee of the Regions, the event will have limited seating. Therefore, we encourage you to register as soon as possible by filling in the registration form.
