On 10 June 2019, a design concept developed as part of the RE4 project received one of the four awards at the yearly Deutscher Holzbaupreis 2019 (German Timber Construction Prize).

The event took place in Hannover and is one of the most important awards in this sector in Germany and Europe.

The RE4 design, developed by the Berlin-based architecture firm ZRS Architekten, was chosen out of 157 candidates for its innovative concept, which significantly increases the lifespan of buildings thanks to a novel structural support system and flexible floor plans.
