Although pay-as-you-throw (PAYT) schemes have been showing effective results across Europe for several years, the uptake of these models is still poor in many countries. The LIFE RethinkWASTE project is aimed at increasing the implementation of such schemes, also testing social innovation approaches, drawing inspiration from promising systems such as the know-as-you-throw (KAYT) scheme.

On 29-30 October 2019, the project coordinator ETRA welcomed the 11 partners of the consortium (among which ACR+ member ARC)  in its premises in Padova (IT) for the kick-off meeting at premises in Padova (IT). It was an exciting opportunity to start thinking about the inspiring challenges to come and share a common project methodology. The partners are now working to collect relevant (successful and less successful) cases about PAYT/KAYT, that will be the focus of the seminar ACR+ will host in Brussels on 19 February 2020.
