September is marked by Second Hand September, an initiative to promote shopping second hand and put an end to fast fashion. To celebrate it, WINPOL published a good practice on improving textile waste collection, implemented by the city of Antwerp in collaboration with 5 organisations.

De Collectie - The Collection - started in October 2016. Its principle? Collecting textiles, clothing, shoes and leather goods at home or giving inhabitants of the city the chance to bring them in to one of the many delivery points in the city of Antwerp. The textiles are then sorted and locally sold as much as possible.
