The Halandri pilot hosted a Demo Day on 14 February to show the results obtained during the first phase of implementation of the Waste4Think project (funded by the EU programme Horizon2020 under grant agreement 688995), of which ACR+ member University of Deusto is a partner. This event took place in the Olympic Committee Building in Athens, with the attendance of around 200 stakeholders interested in discovering the progress of the project in the four pilot territories.

During the workshop, different software, apps and learning materials developed in the framework of the project were showcased and stakeholders had the opportunity to test the products and engage with their developers. Also, demo videos regarding the valorisation of disposable nappies and recovery of different materials from the expired food products where demonstrated, as it is part of Halandri pilot.

During the second-half of the day, the attendees had the opportunity to visit the treatment plant installed in the municipality of Halandri. In this plant, the organic waste collected from families, participating voluntarily in the project, is shredded and dehydrated in order to produce a biomass product called FORBI - Food Residue Biomass.
