INTRADEL 80px

One of the most ambitious projects of ACR+ member INTRADEL is currently being unrolled in Verviers, Belgium, as the 55,000 inhabitants will now be using containers with a chip while their bio-waste will be selectively collected. The uniqueness of this project is that it has been implemented all at once, instead of through different phases.

40,000 individual containers were equipped and 4,000 access badges to collective containers given to 25,000 households. 42 collective underground containers with a weighting system were installed, representing a total underground storage capacity of more than 200 m³. The change was accompanied by an information campaign, including around 20 informational sessions gathering over 4,000 participants.

INTRADEL brought similar change in Neupré, and for the first time on INTRADEL’s territory, three waste streams (organic, paper-cardboard, and residual), instead of one, started to simultaneously be collected in containers.
