The Municipality of Apeldoorn, part of ACR+ member Cleantech Region, has started an innovative project of circular demolition of one of its building, the Americahal. Built in 1987, it was used for years for events, congresses, and sports competitions. The Americahal will be demolished by February, to enable the redevelopment of the area where it is located, using circular economy principles. This means that it will be dismantled, removed in parts and made suitable for reuse elsewhere. More than 98% of the hall should be reused. In addition to the fact that it is unique that a building of this size is circularly demolished and relocated, it is the first demolition project to be carried out in this way for the municipality of Apeldoorn.
