ACR+ member Greater Pamplona has been awarded for the fourth time the highest recognition, the three Blue paper birds (pajaritas azules), in the management of the collection of paper and cardboard by ASPAPEL, the Spanish Association of Manufacturers of Pulp, Paper and Cardboard. This year, ASPAPEL after evaluating 2018 performances, awarded 35 local entities in Spain with Blue paper birds, of these 25 are receiving the highest recognition of the three Blue paper birds.
 
Greater Pamplona is collecting paper and cardboard through 3,925 containers spread on the territory and 37 containers associated with the pneumatic collection in the Old Town of Pamplona. The system is completed by a door-to-door collection available to all businesses in the Old Town. In 2018, the average of paper and cardboard recovered in the region was 47.4 kg per inhabitant and year, a figure significantly higher than the average recorded in Navarra (42.3 kg) and the national average (19.5 kg).
