On the proposal of the Minister of the Economy, the government of ACR+ member Wallonia validated an ambitious regional circular economy deployment strategy at first reading.

Initiated in January 2020, the strategy focuses on five fields of action: production and supply of goods and services; consumption and demand of goods and services; mobilisation of stakeholders; waste management; priority value chains. This last aspect is targeting specifically: construction and buildings; food industry and systems; plastic; transports; metal industry; water; and textiles.

To implement the strategy, three instances will be set up: a steering committee; an intra-administration platform which brings together the Walloon public authorities concerned by the circular economy; and an Orientation Committee, a participatory body, which brings together the various stakeholders.
