For the fourth year, the Irish Waste Management Planning Lead Authorities, which include ACR+ members Eastern Midlands Waste Region and Southern Waste Region, are partnering with the Environmental Protection Agency to run the Upcycle Challenge.

Accessible through the MyWaste platform, this competition is challenging amateurs, professional, schools and community groups to unearth the imagination within and create something new out of something old. The Upcycle Challenge asks entrants to see the potential and value that an unwanted item such as an old piece of furniture or discarded wooden pallets can have by simply showing it some love. Entries, to be submitted until 30 October, will be judged and winners will be announced during an awards ceremony which will take place during the EWWR 2020.
