Several new legal developments linked to waste management are implemented by ACR+ member ARC in Catalonia since the beginning of the year. For owners of landfills and energy recovery plants, new rates for the municipal waste tax have been in force. Landfill owners and operating entities have a deadline for requesting a review of their authorizations. For commercial activities, the delivery of light and very light plastic bags is prohibited, unless they are made of compostable plastic. For companies manufacturing and importing tires amending the Royal Decree on the management of end-of-life tires. For companies producing and managing waste (including agents and traders) the eSIR platform (shipment notification system) is expected to enter service.
