In 2017, as part of the recent Intermunicipal Strategy to Combat Food Waste, ACR+ member LIPOR and DARIACORDAR signed a partnership to facilitate the replication of the Zero Waste Programme in LIPOR’s Partner Municipalities. This partnership resulted, in LIPOR’s area of influence, in the prevention of 474 tonnes of food waste, avoiding the emission of 587 tonnes of CO2eq and promoting the donation of 947,620 meals, with an economic value equivalent to EUR 2,391,111. Recognising the importance and enormous need to combat waste in all its forms and especially food waste, this partnership was renewed in 2021.
