In the framework of the "Gielt Band" action, an initiative of the Ministry of Agriculture, Viticulture and Rural Development in partnership with the Union of Cities and Municipalities of Luxembourg (Syvicol) to reduce food waste, ACR+ member Luxembourg invites all inhabitants to collect fruit from the city's orchards. When the fruits are ripe and ready to be picked, yellow cotton ribbons will be placed on the corresponding trees and everyone will be allowed, without prior consultation with the owner and free of charge, to pick the fruits for their personal use. In this way, they actively act against food waste and the inhabitants learn to value food.
