International conference on Sustainable management of sewage sludge and biowaste, 16-17 June 2011, Valencia
ACR+ together with the Generalitat Valenciana (Regional Government of Valencia) and the Instituto para la Sostenibilidad de los Recursos (ISR), succesfully co-organisedan International conference on methods for sustainable management of sewage sludge and biowaste on 16-17 June 2011 Valencia, Spain.
The purpose of the conference was to contribute with ideas to the elaboration of the reinforced European sludge management strategy.
The main focus of the conference were methods for the sustainable management of sewage sludge.
The topics that were discussed included:
- The experiences from other big cities in Europe and the comparison of the applied treatment methods.
- Priority for review and evaluation, through the economical and operational aspects of sewage sludge management, the costs of operation and the optimisation of the material and energy recovery
- The benefits of sewage sludge management using the bio degradable organic fraction of municipal solid waste
