UrbanWaste

The URBAN-WASTE project – Urban strategies for Waste Management in Tourist Cities – will endeavour to support policy makers in answering to the challenges of booming tourism in European cities, including high levels of unsustainable resource consumption and waste production.

Project co-funded by the European Commission, under the Horizon 2020 programme, 2016 - 2019

Highlights

The General Assembly, held in Lisbon on 27 November 2018, allowed looking back at the achievements and developments reached together with the 11 pilot cities and regions. Guests could share their experience in the Mutual Learning event titled “Good practices in waste management as change makers in tourism”.

The next months will be busy as the project’s Final Conference will take place on 7 May 2019 in Brussels, and guidelines supporting policy makers in replicating the URBAN-WASTE strategies in touristic cities will be prepared by ACR+.
