SCREEN | Project gathers regional experts to create synergies

At mid-term of its duration, the SCREEN project gathered its partners, including among others ACR+ members ORDIF and Flanders, during a series of London-based events aimed at preparing the next steps of the project and creating synergies between European regions for circular economy.

First, the SCREEN partners discussed the project’s progress and in particular the first results of the gathering of regional data following a protocol for identification of synergies. Although complex, this protocol received some positive feedback from the partners and aims at collecting information related to the regional value chains and stakeholders, defining interventions and exploring cross-regional synergies. This methodology could in particular be very relevant to help ACR+ members identifying further cooperation and synergies opportunities.

Then, SCREEN partners participated with other stakeholders in an international cluster workshop that enabled highlighting barriers, gaps and edge cutting innovations for specific value chains and for cross-regional cooperation. The possibility to use ERDF funds for financing well-ranked but not funded research proposals was also discussed. Finally, partners brainstormed proposal ideas relevant to the forthcoming H2020 calls for circular economy.
