ACR+ member Sofia Municipality will implement a project in the framework of the "Circular Economy and Resource Efficiency" call for financial support under the Programme "Environmental Protection and Climate Change", funded by the Financial Mechanism of the European Economic Area 2014-2021.

Under the project, three schemes for separate collection and recycling of waste will be constructed and maintained: collection of biological waste from food and household kitchens in the framework of the door-to-door scheme in Bankya district and Vitosha district and a system for collection and utilisation of obsolete car tyres. The project will cover 1,000 households and aims to encourage citizen participation in the separate collection of this waste stream, control and accountability of the collection, transport and recovery processes.
