ACR+ member Greater Pamplona has begun the second phase of the deployment of containers with an electronic opening system. A total of 178 containers will be installed in two new areas (79 for organic waste and 99 for residual waste) which will be distributed to 79 collection points. During April and May, the system will be extended to other areas.

The aim of the change of system is to increase the separation at source of organic waste, which represents 34% of the total waste generated. Once the implementation of the new system is completed in mid-2023, 356,000 inhabitants (94% of the population) will be covered, 350,000 electronic cards will have been distributed to 175,000 households and establishments, and 4,325 containers will have been replaced.
