Walloon Infrastructure Financing Company has just launched a massive communication campaign on Wallonia’s highways to fight against littering. From June to the half of July, 300 advertising boards along the roads will raise the travellers’ awareness on the impact of waste dumping on the road. Every year, around 1,000 tonnes of waste are collected on Wallonia’s highways, for a collection cost of EUR 4 million. In addition to this nearly 3,000 tonnes of waste are collected every year in the resting areas, for over EUR 2 million.
