Cascais Ambiente 80px

ACR+ member Cascais Ambiente is raising awareness among citizens on bio-waste collection, through a door-to-door campaign where they explain the project and deliver the necessary equipment for the separation of organic waste, which will be mandatory in Portugal on 31 December 2023.

At this moment there are already 9 328 families in Cascais separating their food waste. The expansion of the bio-waste collection is part of an urban waste management strategy in Cascais designed to achieve the target of 60% preparation for reuse and recycling in 2030. To the flow of bio-waste collected, Cascais Ambiente wants to soon add other materials such as textiles and sanitary textiles.
