Since January 2023, the mobile ecocenters in Lisbon have received over 14 500 kilograms of waste across all districts. The waste consists mostly of small appliances, but also includes utensils, pots and pans, and packaging with residues of solvents and paints. Additionally, these facilities accept aluminum coffee capsules (the fourth most common type of waste), light bulbs, ink cartridges, toners and cork stoppers, among other items. The ecocenters circulate among the 24 districts, returning to each location every two months, where they stay for six days. During months when they are not in the area, inhabitants can deposit their waste in neighboring districts.
