PREPSOIL final event set to chart regional pathways for mission soil

As Europe ramps up its ambition to restore and protect soil health, the PREPSOIL Final Event on 26 May will serve as a key moment for regional and local actors to shape their role in delivering the EU Mission Soil. Held at the European Committee of the Regions in Brussels, the event will offer a deep dive into the forthcoming Soil Monitoring Law and the mechanisms needed for its successful implementation across European territories. The programme places strong emphasis on local realities—highlighting how Living Labs, citizen engagement, and regional strategies can work in tandem to meet soil health targets.

Rather than a traditional conference, the event is positioned as a springboard for coordinated action, bringing together researchers, public authorities, and civil society to explore how soil health can be mainstreamed into territorial planning and policy. The discussions will tackle concrete challenges such as building regional soil monitoring capacity and scaling community-led initiatives, while offering ample opportunities for networking and cross-border exchange.

Register for the event here before 16 May and view the programme here.
