Social Innovation Action Plan to drive the uptake of circular systemic solutions in the society

The CSSboost project has begun implementing its Social Innovation Action Plan to promote the adoption of circular systemic solutions across society. Following a dedicated webinar in June as part of EU Green Week, focusing on social acceptance and necessary innovation actions, the project published the Action Plan in September 2025. Tailored for project partners, pilots, and demonstrators, it reflects CSSboost’s commitment to advancing circular solutions across diverse industries and value chains. These include agricultural, livestock and food processing by-products valorisation on the island of Crete, water reuse and nutrients recovery in the Marche region of Italy, conventional plastic and bioplastics recycling in the North Black Forest region of Germany, public transport vehicle recycling and valorisation in Lisbon and an interregional multi-national value chain.

Developed by the Social CRM Research Center, the Plan includes stakeholder engagement, communities of practice, workshops, field demonstrations, and “fab-labs” to foster co-creation and societal ownership of solutions. It also emphasises education through summer schools, teaching games, and knowledge-sharing sessions, alongside robust communication and dissemination strategies. Implementation is organised in three-month sprints with continuous monitoring and evaluation, enabling adjustments to emerging priorities. Current efforts focus on one-on-one meetings with pilots and demonstrators to set individual roadmaps and identify key stakeholders and target groups.
