In Catalonia, around 9,000 tonnes of non-reusable menstrual products are produced each year, amounting to around 750 million disposable menstrual products. ACR+ member ARC actively participates in the Menstrual Equity Plan which stimulates the use of reusable menstrual products. The first phase of the plan has started with the project “My period, my rules”, which will see reusable and environmentally sustainable menstrual products (cups, panties and sanitary towels) distributed to more than 1,200 students in the third year of secondary education in 24 schools throughout Catalonia.
