Brussels Environment | Good Food strategy aims to help canteens limit food waste

As part of the Good Food strategy of the Brussels Region, ACR+ member Brussels Environment now offers its support to help the canteens (in schools, nursing homes or nurseries) to set up vegetarian menus and/or to limit food waste.

The two priorities of this strategy are:

  • tailor-made support in the establishment’s kitchen
  • improvement of the specifications of the institution(s) on veggie menu and food waste

The support focusing on 'wastage' aims to reduce both the food waste in the kitchen (stock and preparation) and the waste produced by customer. The aim of the veggie accompaniment is to help the canteen to establish tasty and balanced vegetarian menus and to carry out a positive communication on this subject.
