17 inspiring initiatives to better valorise inert waste
Imagine a world where heaps of rubble are no longer seen as waste, but as resources. Where demolition materials, industrial ashes, and inert construction residues are not buried or shipped away, but instead given a second life - incorporated into a new cycle, useful to our cities, to the environment, and to the economy. This world is not fiction; it is a transition we must build together.
While working on the ambitious project of improving public policies on circular economy by focusing on the valorisation of inert and inorganic waste, the INERTWASTE partners identified several inspiring initiatives. Each focusing on different aspects of the construction value-chain, they are all geared towards the same direction: fostering industrial synergies, bringing by-products back into production cycles, shortening material flows, and avoiding unnecessary extraction. They also contribute to the improvement of public policies by removing regulatory barriers, encouraging local value chains, and supporting innovation.
Those good practices are available in the dedicated section of the website. But what if you could take them with you anywhere? What if you could read them in your language?
The INERTWASTE Good Practices Guide is giving you this possibility!
Available in Danish, French, Slovenian, Spanish (and English), this guide is one of the tangible outcomes of INERTWASTE cooperation. It showcases 17 concrete, proven and transferable initiatives. Each example is a seed. It is up to you to plant it!
