Compendium of best practices in circular economy for sports and cities

Divided in five sections, this compendium is a collection of 21 good practices in responsible environmental management, circular economy and nature conservation and was produced to serve as a source of inspiration not only for the sport organisations participating in the ACCESS project but also for sport organisations beyond the project, as well as local and regional authorities across Europe.

The stories and testimonies that were collected and selected reflect the best practices coming from both ACCESS partners, as well as other European initiatives. They were drafted after a thorough desk research, follow up interviews and validations with the author or owner of the good practice.

Key Performance Indicator Dashboard

The Circular Key Performance Indicators Dashboard was developed by the ACCESS project consortium and it aims at calculating the circularity level between sport organisations and cities through addressing and assessing various environmental performances. The dashboard investigates the main environmental performances and  cooperation between sport realities and cities, divided in 6 separate worksheets:

Accommodation | Food & Beverage | Mobility | Purchasing and Suppliers selection | Waste Management | Stadium Infrastructure Management

GREEN GOALS - A Sports Sustainability Manual for Community & Grassroots Engagement

The Green Goals manual is designed for sports organisations, sports coordinators and club committees and members seeking to encourage or expand club-led sustainability action.

CIRCULAR CITY COMMITTEES - Handbook

The handbook doesn’t only provide the background, theory, methodology and approach to the Circular City Committees, but also a summary of how they were implemented, managed and what results did they bear, gives it a twofold importance – allowing the replication of the process beyond the project on one hand and providing lessons learnt based on real situations.

Training material

Discover all the capacity building material in form of presentations, accompanying reading material and training material that was used for the 3 training modules essential for the ACCESS project’s workplan and objectives. It also displays the recordings of the five webinars addressing the five focus areas for improvements identified by the project partners.

While the training material can help the readers understand the methodology and approaches used for the workplan, the webinars boast in knowledge, skills and plethora of good practices that can be very inspiring.
