From insight to action: behavioural shifts for circular change

Welcome to the first web-series of the Circular Lifestyles thematic area!

In four episodes we will dive with you into the world of behaviour, from the perspective of applied solutions, practices, processes and operations, to understand how production and consumption practices can be reshaped to reinforce circular economy principles.

Aligned with ACR+’s broader commitment to help members assess behaviour and rethink product placing, marketing, and consumer engagement, as well as social acceptance, the series will explore how various processes and operations can be rethought, reshaped and redefined to allow  key policies, targets and strategies to be embedded into the ways we buy, consume, enjoy and exploit various goods and services – including events, textiles, circular business models, and more.

Through empirical and tested practices, insights, trends and tendencies, and discussions among experts and practitioners, the series will highlight effective solutions for tackling behavioural barriers, enhancing the deployment of circular initiatives, and encouraging their uptake.

Ep. 1 - Reuse and repair in action (24 April 2025)

This first episode, co-organised with the INTERREG project MINEV, will tackle reuse and repair and relevant strategies and policies, such as the Right to Repair principle and the Directive on repair of goods and their deployment and application in practice, through the perspective of social economy. It will particularly focus on large events and how reusable and repairable items could increase the sustainability of those events and enrich the sharing economy and social enterpreneurship.

Ep. 2 - Engaging citizens in sustainable consumption of textiles and textiles waste separation: the role of local and regional authorities (13 May 2025)

Organised in the framework of the CISUTAC project, this episode will present key findings on textile waste collection, highlight practical case studies, and discuss the impact of citizen behaviour on waste prevention.

Ep. 3 - Breaking barriers: behavioural change strategies for circular economy Implementation (18 June 2025)

This webinar, in the framework of the Interreg Euro-MED Innovative Sustainable Economy, explores practical behavioural change strategies that successfully promote circular economy adoption among citizens, businesses, and public authorities. Through case studies from repair hubs, programs for textile circularity, and circular procurement programs, participants will learn how to identify behavioural barriers and implement effective solutions that can be replicated across the Mediterranean region.

Ep. 4 - Social innovation for and acceptance of circular systemic solutions (23 June 2025)

This final episode, sponsored by the European Union funded HORIZON project CSSboost, will look at the challenges faced by businesses and European initiatives developing circular systemic solutions from two perspectives: the creation of solutions and business models on one side and their deployment and uptake on the other.
