A less waste future starts with teamwork — join the EWWR 2025!

European Week for Waste Reduction 2025 registration closes on 9 November! To inspire action developers in this final stretch, the EWWR highlights an initiative from the Swedish coordinator, Avfall Sverige, showing how cooperation can make a real difference. In Sweden, property owners of multifamily buildings are working with waste management associations to improve waste sorting through better facilities: clean bins, enough space, good lighting, and clear signage. One example, Tunabyggen in Borlänge, reduced its residual waste by 22% in two years thanks to collaboration and tenant engagement. 

During EWWR, these organisations will meet to exchange good practices and discuss solutions for more efficient waste separation. Avfall Sverige will also present a new national goal: 30% less residual waste by 2030 (compared to 2023 levels).
