ARC | Catalonia expands waste management grants with EUR 4.3 million boost

08 September 2025 Members' News

The Catalan Waste Agency has increased funding by EUR 4.3 million across three grant programs to improve waste management. The expanded funding will support circular economy projects, the use of recycled aggregates in public works, and innovations in waste treatment plants.

The circular economy program receives an additional EUR 2 million, raising its total to EUR 3.7 million to fund more of the 259 projects submitted. This program supports business initiatives that reduce waste, promote material reuse, and enhance the sustainability of production processes.

The recycled aggregate initiative gains EUR 325 000, bringing its total to EUR 3 325 million, and promotes recycled materials in public construction to reduce environmental impact. A further EUR 2 million is allocated to projects that enhance prevention, reuse, recycling, and research in third-party waste treatment plants, increasing that fund to EUR 4 million. These programs, financed through the 2025 budget of the Catalan Waste Agency, aim to drive sustainable practices, innovative technologies, and better resource management.
