Clean Industrial Deal and bioeconomy at the centre of stakeholder dialogue

ACR+ actively contributed to the Circular Economy Stakeholder Dialogue organised by the European Circular Economy Stakeholder Platform (ECESP) on 10 April, ahead of the EU’s Green Week. The event brought together policymakers, business leaders, researchers, and civil society to discuss priorities for the 2024–2029 EU mandate. During a session focused on the Clean Industrial Deal, ACR+ Secretary General Françoise Bonnet underlined the essential role of cities and regions in driving the clean transition, stressing the need for local authorities to create enabling environments for sustainable industries and innovation. The event also tackled the future of the EU Bioeconomy Strategy and the Circular Economy Act, with active exchanges between European Commission representatives and stakeholders.

The dialogue made clear that advancing a viable, inclusive circular economy is even more crucial given today’s geopolitical uncertainties. Discussions emphasised that the circular economy and bioeconomy must serve as tools for achieving climate and biodiversity goals while creating sound business cases. Stakeholders broadly agreed on the importance of strong governance, targeted investments, and inclusive participation to achieve circularity. The full recordings of the event, including all keynote speeches and panel discussions, are available here.
