Discover inspiring case studies on the C-PRONE Knowledge Hub

Are you looking for practical examples of circular procurement and sustainable renovation?

The C-PRONE Knowledge Hub hosts a growing collection of case studies, projects, and initiatives across Europe that show how circular principles can be applied in public procurement.

One inspiring example is the Vinkenhof neighbourhood renovation in Berlaar, Belgium. Commissioned by Zonnige Kempen, a social housing company in Antwerp, the project renovated 52 homes with a focus on reuse and efficiency.

Facades were finished with circular cladding, roofs insulated using the sarking method and partly covered with recycled tiles, and joinery was reused in collaboration with technical schools. By starting with two demonstration houses before scaling up, the project uncovered valuable lessons on minimising demolition and ensuring contractors take responsibility for reused materials.
