ACR+ member CITEO has launched its Territorial Performance Plan to boost waste collection and sorting. To achieve 75% recycling of packaging and 65% of paper, several calls for projects will be launched between 2018 and 2022 with a financial commitment of 190 million euros as well as technical and operational support to local authorities. The aim is to enable an additional 8 million French people to sort all their packaging by the end of 2018 numbering up to more than 1/3 of the country.

In 2018, the Plan will be executed in two steps. Between April and July 2018, local authorities which are already customers of the sorting centres selected in 2015-2016 will be able to apply for the first phase of the call for projects with the aim of sorting 100% of the packaging on their territories. Communities will also be able to take advantage of this call for projects to rethink their collection systems and implement levers for improvement.

A second call for projects will be launched in autumn 2018 and will not have any territorial limitations. It will address the extension of sorting instructions, the optimisation of collection, the adaptation of sorting centres to the sorting of all packaging, and more generally to the improvement of performance in the sorting centres.
