The building sector has a high environmental impact over its entire life cycle. The materials used are mostly non-renewable and the emissions related to their use represent a large percentage of the total carbon footprint of a building. Thus, the integration of bio-based materials in construction is a major sustainability issue.

On 10 November, ACR+ member ORÉE is organising, with ADEME and the Ministry of Ecological Transition, “Circuits of the Circular Economy” webinar on the establishment of a sustainable bio-based materials sector, using the new headquarters of the National Forest Office and the Chamber of Agriculture of the Vosges as an example, and the Terre de hêtre brand, which is working to revitalise the beech wood sector in the region, in particular by creating a regional forestry charter.
