The Municipal Urban Environment Services Company of Gijón, ACR+ member EMULSA, has collected more than 52,000 pieces of furniture and household items from the streets of Gijón during 2021, most of which will be recycled and some of which, in good condition, will be reused for charitable purposes thanks to the collaboration with the NGO Emaús Asturias. In total, EMULSA managed 4,331 tonnes of furniture last year, an increase of 17% compared to 2020. This initiative to promote reuse is one of the best practices presented by EMULSA in the European project 2Lifes, which is led by Gijón and co-financed by Interreg Europe.Source: www.gijon.es (in Spanish)
