The Green Deal Sustainable Healthcare is an initiative in Flanders for promoting sustainability in the healthcare sector, launched by the Flemish government's environment department, in which ACR+ member OVAM is involved. It is a voluntary and ambitious agreement between private partners and the Flemish government to jointly initiate a sustainable project. The healthcare and wellness sectors help absorb the physical, mental and social consequences of climate change and a polluted living environment. The Green Deal Sustainable Healthcare brings together a range of stakeholders, including hospitals, care providers, industry, and governments, to work towards a more sustainable healthcare system. The goals of the initiative include reducing greenhouse gas emissions, reducing waste and water use, promoting sustainable procurement practices, and improving the health and wellbeing of patients and staff.
