ACR+ member OVAM and Flanders Circulair challenge students every year to think of circular solutions for relevant and current social problems. On 26 October, the 2023 Eco-design Award for Students was presented in Antwerp. This edition winner impressed the jury with their project Cyclowash, which uses various production techniques to filter microfibers from water, enabling water reuse. Winners from other categories include Paccobox, a circular system where consumers can deposit empty reusable food containers. The Rover project creates a circular design with local waste streams, designing a furniture collection using materials from Aalst and its surroundings. The SEAt Shell project saves mussel and oyster shells from incineration by using them as raw material for circular lounge furniture.
