The treatment and recycling center for refrigerators and related equipment of the Catalan Waste Agency has reached the milestone of managing 3 000 000 refrigerators. The appliances come from various parts of Catalonia through civic amenity site (there are 523 in Catalonia) but also through stores and other distribution points that serve as collection points. 

 

The Catalan Waste Agency operates this specific facility in Puente de Vilomara and Rocafort (Bages), where, with highly advanced technology, chlorofluorocarbons and their substitutes are extracted for proper treatment. Additionally, all other components of the appliances are separated for material recycling.
