The Environment and Mobility Area of Madrid is improving its network of clean points with the aim of encouraging recycling and making it easier for the citizens to dispose of waste that should not be thrown away. This improvement includes the increase in the quantities of each type of waste that could be taken to the fixed clean points, the increase in the number of locations of the moving clean points and the next entry into operation of the new clean proximity points.

A mobile app called Clean Points in Madrid has also been created, which reports on the location of the collection centres, as well as the hours and maximum amounts of waste allowed.

Individuals can use the Network of Clean Points of the City of Madrid for the assessment or elimination of domestic waste that are not deposited in garbage cans. Glass, paper and cardboard, metals, containers, vegetable oils used for cooking, bulky debris (mattresses, furniture, bed frames, doors, etc.), debris from small household appliances, electrical appliances and household appliances can be brought to this facility, clothing and footwear, among others. In addition, the separate collection in these centres of coffee and wood capsules has recently been launched.
