Deeply rooted in communities, the fashion and textile sector holds significant cultural and economic value, providing livelihoods and reinforcing local identities, while also presenting environmental and social challenges across its entire lifecycle. 2025 marks the launch of the EU obligation to establish separate collection systems for textiles, which, while trying to advance circularity, brought new challenges both for citizens and all the entities involved in the collection.
|
This webinar is at the crossroad of two webinar series, following a cooperation between the CISUTAC project and ACR+'s Circular Lifestyles thematic area.
It will present key findings on textile waste collection, highlight practical case studies, and discuss the impact of citizen behaviour on waste prevention.
This webinar is a must-attend for policymakers, waste management authorities, businesses, NGOs, and sustainability advocates looking to enhance their circular fashion/textile waste strategies.

This webinar series of the ACR+ Circular Lifestyles thematic area will dive in four episodes into the world of behaviour, from the perspective of applied solutions, practices, processes and operations, to understand how production and consumption practices can be reshaped to reinforce circular economy principles. Building on cooperation with relevant projects, the series will explore how various processes and operations can be rethought, reshaped and redefined to allow key policies, targets and strategies to be embedded into the ways we buy, consume, enjoy and exploit various goods and services – including events, textiles, circular business models, and more. Empirical and tested practices, insights, trends and tendencies, and discussions among experts and practitioners will be used to highlight effective solutions for tackling behavioural barriers, enhancing the deployment of circular initiatives, and encouraging their uptake.

About the CISUTAC Sustainability Forum
|
The CISUTAC Sustainability Forum is a webinar series designed to foster knowledge-sharing and dialogue around sustainable practices in the textile sector. Developed as an accessible, modular learning experience, the series explores key topics including the textile decision tree, sorting for reuse and repair, recycling pathways, circular design principles, consumer behavior, and effective consumer interventions. Each session brings together experts, innovators, and engaged stakeholders to unpack practical strategies for closing the loop in textiles and advancing circularity across the value chain. The series aims to support professionals, researchers, and changemakers in building a more sustainable and resilient textile system.
