01 September 2025 Members' News

The Government of Navarra has announced EUR 1 050 000 in grants for municipalities and local associations to improve household waste management, including reducing waste and enhancing collection and processing systems. Beneficiaries can request up to 70% of the grant in advance, with funding covering 90% of investments and 100% of operating costs, up to EUR 200 000 per entity. Of the total, EUR 840 000 is earmarked for improving separate collection systems, traceability, and municipal domestic and commercial waste, especially organic waste, while EUR 210 000 will fund prevention and planning measures such as reducing food waste, promoting reusable packaging, and encouraging repair or reuse of products.

The grants are funded through the Waste Fund, created under Navarra’s 2018 Waste and Tax Law, financed by landfill and incineration taxes and fines for waste-related violations. In 2025, the fund totals EUR 6 362 020, with EUR 4,160,328 allocated to prevention, selective collection, and management initiatives.
