Insights from the 2nd Hazards Out! Workshop: HHW collection in focus

Did you miss the second Hazards Out! Workshop on Household Hazardous Waste (HHW) Collection Methods? If you were unable to join the event organised by FEAD, in partnership with ACR+ and Hazardous Waste Europe, you can find the full recording of the session here. In addition, the presentation package is available here.
We were delighted to welcome more than 60 experts from the waste management and recycling sector, public and local authorities, consultancy, academia, and other industries, all acknowledging the importance of the separate collection of HHW. During the workshop, we explored the cases of ACR+ member the Municipality of Odense in Denmark and SuperDrecksKëscht in Luxembourg. We had the opportunity to learn in detail about their organisation, collection methods, types and quantities of waste, as well as the storage, transportation, and treatment of hazardous household waste—highlighting both similarities and differences between their systems.
Mark your calendars for the next session on 30 September, where we will focus on specific hazardous products commonly found in households and the applicable extended producer responsibility (EPR) schemes. We'll explore the key question: Does EPR have a role to play?
