Joining forces to increase collection for recycling of glass packaging

ACR+, together with 15 other European partners and 13 national platforms, is already a key contributor to the Close the Glass Loop initiative, which aims to achieve a 90% glass collection for recycling rate in the EU by 2030. The network’s role in sharing best practices among municipalities and promoting high-quality separate collection systems strengthens the link between local authorities, businesses, and the recycling industry. 

Building on this collaboration, Close the Glass Loop has now welcomed FEAD, the European Waste Management Association, as its 16th European partner. Waste management operators are essential in ensuring glass packaging is collected, transported, and processed to the high-quality standards required for closed-loop recycling.
