NLWA | EcoPark House wins for sustainable, community-focused design
North London Waste Authority (NLWA) announced that EcoPark House, its education and community centre at Edmonton EcoPark, has won Social Infrastructure Project of the Year at the 2025 British Construction & Infrastructure Awards. Opened in June 2025 as part of the North London Heat and Power Project, the centre reflects NLWA’s commitment to delivering sustainable, community-focused infrastructure. It provides an engaging space for schools, community groups, and the Edmonton Sea Cadets to learn about recycling, waste prevention, and the circular economy, welcoming more than 900 visitors since the start of the year.
EcoPark House has achieved a BREEAM ‘Very Good’ sustainability rating, a leading certification assessing a building’s performance in energy, water, materials, and wellbeing. Its sustainable features, including a brown roof, rainwater harvesting, and energy-efficient systems, reduce carbon emissions by over 200 tonnes a year and save around GBP 117 000 (EUR 135 000) in operating costs.
