Public Water Fountain distributing sparkling water

06 June 2013

Since January 2010 the municipality of Castelfidardo (Italy) has installed a public water fountain with a carbon filter system in order to dispense mineral and sparkling water to its inhabitants. The main objective of the project is to reduce PET packaging and to raise consumers’ awareness on the sustainable use of resources.

The Fontemagna City is connected to the drinking water supply that works for the whole city through a system of refrigeration (in the case of Fontemagna city, with totally natural gas) and carbonation, as well as UVA filter system and activated carbon filter approved by Ministry of Health, which purify the water of chlorine and erase bacteria. It is thus possible to obtain excellent water at low price.

The dispenser is equipped with a payment system which accepts coins and magnetic cards.
