On 12 June 2015, ACR+ took part in the launch of the Rabat Region Environmental Education Center (Centre Educatif Environnemental de la Région de Rabat – CEER).

This unique project takes place in the framework of the bilateral cooperation between the Rabat Region and Brussels Capital Region International Cooperation department. In this project, ACR+ was mandated by the Brussels Region and, with the assistance of the Region of Rabat, has undertaken the design and setting of this educational centre.

During the inauguration, Brussels State Secretary for Development, Bianca DeBaets, and the Minister for External Relations, Guy Vanhengel gave speeches emphasizing the quality of the cooperation between the two regions and the importance of this new centre to raise awareness and induce behavioural change. They explained that the benefits of a better waste management would not only be environmental but also social and economic. ACR+ was represented in the person of Françoise Bonnet, ACR+ Secretary General.

Students from the Lycée Moulay Youssef in Rabat and the Lycée technique Al-Faraby in Salé were also invited for the inauguration, in the frame of the already existing intercultural exchange between Brussels schools and the Region of Rabat. The involvement of students underlined the will to include the young generation in environmental issues, such as waste and resources management.
