ARC | Increasing funding to boost circular economy and waste management projects

25 August 2025 Members' News

The Catalan Waste Agency has increased funding for three subsidy programs aimed at improving waste management, with a total additional contribution of EUR 4.325 million. This expanded support responds to high demand and will boost key projects. The funding includes EUR 2 million more for circular economy initiatives in the 2024 call, raising its total to EUR 3.7 million. These subsidies support business projects that reduce waste, promote material reuse, and enhance production sustainability.

Additionally, EUR 325 000 has been added to the aid for using CE-marked recycled aggregates in public works, bringing that budget to EUR 3.325 million. Another EUR 2 million has been allocated to improve processes in third-party waste treatment plants, doubling the 2025 call’s total to EUR 4 million. These measures aim to promote innovation, environmental best practices, and the use of recycled materials in both public infrastructure and the waste treatment sector.
