ARC | New grants available for organic waste collection vehicles in Catalonia

The Catalan Waste Agency (ARC) approved the regulatory guidelines for a new grant scheme aimed at promoting efficient selective collection models across Catalonia. The funding, supported by the European Union’s NextGenerationEU programme, will support the acquisition of vehicles for the selective collection of the organic fraction of municipal waste. Eligible applicants include municipalities, local entities, or consortia with the responsibility for organic waste collection and with efficient systems already implemented in at least 5 municipalities. For supramunicipal entities, at least one municipality must have efficient collection in place for at least 50% of its population. 

Each beneficiary may receive funding for a maximum of one vehicle per distribution round, with up to three rounds planned. The aid can cover up to 90% of eligible costs. Maximum eligible amounts are EUR 200,000 for vehicles with a 0-emission environmental certificate and EUR 150,000 for those with other environmental emission certificates.
