Biowaste collection in historical centres: engaging the HORECA sector

In November, ACR+ organised a study visit to Florence (Italy) for members of the HOOP Network on the topic of biowaste collection in historical centres, in collaboration with the HOOP Lighthouse Albano Laziale and the HOOP member City of Florence. Participants dived into different biowaste collection systems (such as door-to-door, smart and underground containers) applied in small and historical centres and discussed engagement measures of the HORECA sector to improve biowaste collection. A report of the day and exchanges held is now available online. The next HOOP study visit will take place in Porto on 27-28 January and will be focused on biobase products.
