After six years of successful implementation, the European Week for Waste Reduction (EWWR) returns for its annual appointment with another intensive week of awareness-raising events. From 21-29 November 2015, more than 12.000 actions related to waste reduction, products reuse and materials recycling, as well as Clean-Ups, will be carried out in 33 countries.

With 40 Coordinators coordinating 12035 actions in 33 countries, the 2015 edition beats all previous records regarding the number of Coordinators involved and the number of countries covered.

The EWWR brings together volunteers all over Europe to organise awareness-raising actions on waste reduction, products reuse, and materials recycling. The EWWR actions aim at increasing awareness on resource efficiency and circular economy. The objective is to change the behaviour of European citizens regarding their consumption patterns and waste habits. This year’s edition of the EWWR will put a special focus on the topic of Dematerialisation.

The 7th edition of the EWWR benefits from wide political support. In particular, it will take place under the patronage of the European Parliament and its president Martin Schulz.
